Bob Holmes ~ Contemplative Monk
Irish mystical (traditional) author Conor McCourt was born and raised during the conflict in the North of Ireland in the historical city of Ard Mhacha ( Armagh), where St. Patrick Of Ireland built his great stone church in 445AD, making Armagh the ecclesiastical capital, also known as the Christian Capital of Ireland and center of Christianity in Ireland. Armagh was also the birthplace of the 11th-century Saint Malachy. Growing up, Conor felt what he could best describe as an internal nudge to intuitively know more. Somehow, he felt guided from an early age, even through his teenage rebellious years, he felt that central drawing towards the Divine mystery. He is passionate about the Christian mystical tradition and its preservation to aid the modern-day pilgrim. His works are influenced by the great mystical writers of the Christian tradition, such as Meister Eckhart, St. Teresa of Avila, St Thomas A Kempis, St Francis de Sales, and St. Therese of Lisieux.
A hidden, heartfelt mystery is unfolding within the pages of Whispers From the Sanctuary. In this book, Conor McCourt invites the reader to explore this spiritual, thirty-day guide bound in contemporary Christian Mysticism. Through prayers, reflections, and meditations, the reader receives subtle messages, allowing them to expand and deepen the roots of their faith. Mystical and spiritual contemplations illuminate a path to a veiled reality, a hidden realm untarnished by egoic concepts. As the heart begins to open and discover its essence through the lens of devotion, the soul's greatest intention, at last, reveals itself.
In a world often clouded by chaos and uncertainty, Gazing Upon Eternity offers a transformative journey into the mystical realm of saints and divine communion. Within these pages, Conor McCourt helps us discover the timeless truth that we are all interconnected souls, inviting us to forge intimate connections with saints. Drawing upon mystical reflections and sacred teachings of historical leaders like St. Albert the Great, St. Paul of the Cross, and St. Thomas a Kempis, this book serves as a guiding light for those who seek to deepen their relationship with the Divine.
Reaching into the Presence brings us closer to a more intimate, personal relationship with God. An interior companionship with God is far more important and dynamic than any information about God. The author explains that the spiritual life is, in essence, about Being and Becoming.
Saints are not mere inanimate objects of contemplation. They become our friends, and they share our friendship and reciprocate it and give us unmistakable tokens of their love. ~Thomas Merton. Read more...
